Today we had very interesting discussions and information sharing in our meeting this morning with Minister Hajdu at the CSW61 in New York.

Although we are disappointed that Pay Equity Legislation will not be passed until 2018, we remain hopeful it comes in 2017. Canadian delegates offered to assist in anyway we can to have it brought forward sooner!

I was pleased to have excellent discussions on HOMECARE Workers in Canada, and the need to protect these workers from violence, safety & health issues and job security! When we do this we protect this service for those that need it!

I shared my thoughts on the need for Federal Domestic Violence Legislation. This is a win/win for both the employees and Employers!

I also spoke to the Minister about PTSD Legislation. Manitoba is further ahead than the Federal Government, offered to share and assist in any way we can!

Later in the evening I was proud to attend the reception for Canadian delegates at the Canadian Mission.

I was given the opportunity to discuss the announcement made by the Minister of International Development and La Francophonie, Hon. Minister Marie-Claude Bibeau last week on sexual health.

This was also a great opportunity to speak to the Minister of the Status of Women, Hon. Maryam Monsef. Where I shared with her the Legislation on domestic violence and the workplace.
