Women rural workers: Organising for social change - transforming lives and livelihoods
The challenges facing today's rural workers, in particular rural women workers, are enormous. Lack of decent job opportunities; high levels of work informality; poor labour protection, including poor health and safety conditions; lack of publicly funded and delivered services, rural poverty, gender and racial dsicrmination...
All of these contribute to the challenges. Yet the solutions are there. Solutions that require social mobilisation and political will.
Make a difference! Come and join us on Friday 2 March at 12:30 for a solutions orientated interactive debate with women activists and leaders from trade unions and civil society orgainisations.
Venue: Main Auditorium of the Salvation Army: 221 East 52nd Street (between 2nd and 3rd Avenues).
