The voice of women workers at the UN
The sixty-eighth session of the Commission on the Status of Women will take place at the UN Headquarters, in New York, from 11 to 22 March 2024.
The UNCSW provides a unique opportunity for coalition-building with other trade unions and progressive organizations, and for influencing global policies on gender equality. In 2024, the UNCSW will consider the priority theme of Accelerating the achievement of gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls by addressing poverty and strengthening institutions and financing with a gender perspective. The session will also review the agreed conclusions of the sixty-third session, Social protection systems, access to public services and sustainable infrastructure for gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls.
This is an important opportunity for the trade union movement to make our demands visible, influence this global body, and strengthen and consolidate our alliances with major civil society organizations (CSO’s).
Global Unions have jointly prepared and submitted a Statement to the UNCSW68.
