In addition, the Chilean government thanked PSI for its contributions to the declaration and multi-year program, and reaffirmed its commitment to freedom of association and collective bargaining.

In the framework of the 69th session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW69), Nayareth Quevedo, official delegate of the government of Chile and Public Services International (PSI) participated in the side event "30 years of women's political participation. Towards total parity", where she was able to interact with former President Michelle Bachelet and other prominent global women leaders.
During the meeting, Bachelet warned about the threats facing advances in women's rights and stressed the importance of strengthening women's representation in politics. "Every time we move forward, there are forces that seek to push us backwards," she said, underscoring the positive impact of gender quotas on parliamentary participation.
Spain's Minister of Equality, Ana Redondo, called for unity and courage among women in politics, while Jokate Urban Mwegelo, a Tanzanian youth leader, highlighted the importance of creating leadership spaces for the new generations.
The event closed with a call to strengthen strategies to accelerate women's participation in politics and the multilateral arena. "Leadership is not built on its own. We must pave the way for other women," concluded Bachelet.
Chilean government allied with PSI
In the morning, Nayareth Quevedo held a meeting at the Permanent Mission of Chile to the UN, where the Chilean government expressed its gratitude to PSI for its valuable contributions to both the final declaration of the CSW69 and the multi-year program of the organization.
At the CSW69 plenary, Chile reaffirmed its commitment to women's labor rights, emphasizing the need to protect freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining, fundamental pillars for the advancement of gender equity in the world of work.
